We are all here to contribute
What if we all contributed something? Imagine how much money would be in the hands of nonprofits if all businesses donated just a small portion of their sales.
Based on that concept and following the lead of those below who give endlessly, 5% of each sale will be donated to your choice of the following non-profit organizations:
On any given day, The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is home to about 2,000 dogs, cats, and other animals. They come from shelters and rescue groups around the country to this no-kill facility for the special care they can only receive at Best Friends. Many of them are adopted to new families - some who are too old or too sick, who have suffered extra trauma, are given a home and haven at the sanctuary where they are given loving care for the rest of their lives.
The Human Rights Campaign represents a grassroots force of over 750,000 members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where LGBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) works to promote human rights and democratic freedoms for the people of Tibet. ICT does the following:
- Monitors and reports on human rights, environmental and socio- economic conditions in Tibet;
- Advocates for Tibetans imprisoned for their political or religious beliefs;
- Works with governments to develop policies and programs to help Tibetans;
- Secures humanitarian and development assistance for Tibetans;
- Mobilizes individuals and the international community to take action on behalf of Tibetans; and
- Promotes self-determination for the Tibetan people through negotiations between the Chinese government and the Dalai Lama.
Modest Needs exists:
- To prevent otherwise financially, self-sufficient individuals and families from entering the cycle of poverty, when this might be avoided with a small amount of well-timed financial assistance
- To restore the financial self-sufficiency of individuals who are willing to work but are temporarily unable to do so because they do not have the means to remit payment for a work-related expense
- To empower permanently disadvantaged individuals who otherwise live within their limited means to continue to live independently, despite a temporary, unexpected financial set-back; and
- To strengthen small non-profit organizations by providing a forum whereby such organizations can apply directly to the general public for the help they need to complete the relatively inexpensive projects that will allow them to better serve their clients and the communities they exist to serve.
Voices For Children CASA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with a community-based board of directors. It was established in 1985 by Boulder members of the Junior League of Denver in cooperation with the Boulder County Bar Association. The agency recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who work as CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA volunteers advocate for and provide services to child victims of abuse and neglect.
Voices for Children CASA maintains a pool of about 100 active CASAs. About 25% of the CASAs have been with the agency for more than five years. In 2008 CASA volunteers were assigned to 96 cases and provided services to 187 maltreated children and youth.
Kind Green Planet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people about healthy, humane, eco-friendly living. Through grassroots film screenings and workshops, activism and lifestyle coaching, and community programs, we empower people to make personal choices that align with their values of justice, peace, respect for the earth, and compassion for all living beings.
Our modus operandi stems from our own personal stories. In the same way that we didn’t become clean, green, animal-saving machines overnight, we don’t expect others to either. We believe that sustainable change happens incrementally, and we understand that any kind of change can be daunting for people at first. So we celebrate the small victories in everyone’s evolution, and we appreciate the value of laughter along the way. The journey to a more just, sustainable society is long and hard, but it can be really fun, fulfilling, and even thrilling at times. And we’re delighted when people like you join us for the ride.
